Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation Chairman Kailash Gahtodi passes away, had left Champawat seat for Dhami, CM expressed grief

On Friday, BJP leader Kailash Gahtodi, former MLA from Champawat and Chairman of Forest Development Corporation in the government, died in Max Hospital after a long illness. While there is a wave of mourning in the entire BJP family due to the demise of Gahtodi, the Chief Minister has also expressed his condolences.

Kailash Gahtodi passes away

BJP leader Kailash Gahtodi, who left his MLA from Champawat assembly constituency for Chief Minister Dhami, died on Friday morning at Max Hospital in Dehradun. Let us tell you that BJP leader Kailash Gahtodi had won the 2022 assembly elections from Champawat on BJP ticket. Even after the party lost the election from Khatima, when Pushkar Singh Dhami was elected the Chief Minister, Kailash Gahtodi from Champawat had left the seat for him. As Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami had contested the by-election from Champawat. Kailash Gahtodi also got a reward from the government for leaving his seat. He was given the responsibility of Chairman of Forest Development Corporation. Kailash Gahtodi was a very soft-spoken and calm leader. He was a leader with a very good image in the party.

CM Dhami expressed grief

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also expressed his condolences on the demise of Kailash Gahtodi. He has written on his social media handle that he is shocked to hear the painful news of the demise of Forest Development Corporation Chairman, former MLA, dear friend and elder brother Kailash Gahtodi ji. Kailash ji’s demise is a personal loss not only for the organization, the state but also for me.

I am not able to express this immense pain in words. You spent your entire life in public service. You will always be remembered as an ideal public representative. As an MLA, your dedication towards the development of Champawat area is a source of inspiration for us.

The company I had with you in the field of politics and public service was so intimate and close to my heart that today it is very difficult to believe that you are no longer among us. You will always be remembered as a good friend and elder brother. We will work dedicatedly towards fulfilling your resolutions regarding the development of Champawat.

I pray to God to grant the blessed soul a place at His feet and the bereaved family members the strength to bear this immense suffering.

Along with this, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, BJP candidate from Nainital Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha seat Ajay Bhatt, BJP candidate from Almora-Pithoragarh Lok Sabha seat Ajay Tamta along with Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya have also expressed grief over the demise of Kailash Gahtodi. Everyone prayed to God to give Gahtodi’s family the strength to bear this loss.
