SRH vs LSG: Head-Abhishek’s explosive unbroken partnership won the match by 10 wickets

The Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium ground has witnessed history. The pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have done what has never happened in this league till date. In the match played against Lucknow Super Giants, Head and Abhishek together chased the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs. The Hyderabad opening pair wreaked such havoc with the bat that the record book of IPL was completely destroyed.

Chasing the target of 166 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a stormy start from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. After remaining quiet in the first over, Abhishek Sharma scored 17 runs against Yash Thakur in the second over. In the third over, Head started his explosive batting and scored 22 runs from Krishnappa Gautam’s over. After this, it seemed as if there was a flood of fours and sixes at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

The Head-Abhishek pair took Hyderabad past the 100-run mark in the powerplay of just six overs. Hyderabad chased the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs. Abhishek remained unbeaten on 75 and Travis Head on 89.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has made the record of fastest run chase in IPL history. Before today, no target has ever been chased in 10 overs in the history of Indian Premier League. In the year 2008, Deccan Chargers chased the target of 155 runs against Mumbai Indians in 12 overs.

Highest total in 10 overs

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have made the record of scoring the most runs in 10 overs in IPL history. Head-Abhishek scored 167 runs in 9.4 overs. Earlier, SRH had scored 158 runs against Delhi Capitals.

Biggest win

Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully achieved the target with 62 balls to spare. This is Hyderabad’s biggest win in IPL history in terms of balls. Earlier, Delhi Capitals had achieved the target in the year 2022 with 57 balls to spare.
