Team India’s first batch will leave on this day for T20 World Cup 2024

The countdown has begun for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the US and West Indies. Former champions India will take the field to win this title for the second time. This is the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup and this time a total of 20 teams are participating in it. A big news is coming out at this time regarding the departure of Team India for the T20 T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will leave for this tournament in two phases. The Indian team has to play its first match in the ninth edition against Ireland on June 5. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has given a big information regarding the departure of Team India.

The first batch will leave on May 24

India’s first batch for the T20 World Cup 2024 will leave on May 24. The first batch will include players including the coaching staff whose teams have been eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoff race. The remaining players will leave in the second batch. Shah said that the second batch of players will leave immediately after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 ends on May 26.

According to a PTI report, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are out of the IPL 2024 playoff race. In such a situation, the players of these teams will leave for the World Cup in the first batch. These players include Indian captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jaspreet Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. Apart from this, players of other teams which will be out of the playoff race will also go in the first batch. The players of the teams making it to the last 4 will fly to America in the second batch after the final on May 26.

With Gujarat Titans at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table, captain Shubman Gill is likely to fly in the first batch. Gill is among India’s reserve players. Another defeat for Gujarat will knock them out of the playoff race.
