While opening the doors of Kedarnath, flowers were showered on the devotees from helicopter, CM Dhami wished for the prosperity of the country and the state.

 

The doors of the world famous Kedarnath Dham have been opened today for six months of summer with rituals and mythological traditions. The doors of the main temple were opened in the presence of Rawal Bhima Shankar Ling of Kedarnath Dham and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami. Thousands of devotees also witnessed the opening of the doors.

The doors of Lord Kedarnath, the eleventh Jyotirlinga situated on the Himalayas, were opened today at 7.15 am in the Taurus ascendant. The flow of pilgrims started arriving in the temple premises and the darshan row from four in the morning. After that, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay, Rawal Bhima Shankar Ling, Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh, priest, Dharmacharya, Vedpathi and officials of Kedar Sabha and District Magistrate Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar along with administration officials reached the temple from the east gate. After this, Rawal, Dharmacharya and priests started the door puja and by invoking Lord Shiva along with Lord Bhairavnath, the doors of Kedarnath temple were opened at exactly 7:15.

 

After the opening of the doors, the Samadhi given to Baba Kedar’s own Bhu Linga at the time of closing of the doors was removed. Then Kedarnath was worshiped. Now common devotees can also visit Kedarnath Dham for the next six months. On the occasion of opening of doors, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present in Kedarnath Dham. During the opening of the doors, the devotees were stopped at some distance from the temple. About half an hour after the doors opened, devotees were sent for darshan.

At present, devotees will have darshan of Baba Kedar only from a distance. In view of the crowd, devotees will not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. On the occasion of opening of doors, flowers were also showered on the devotees from the helicopter. After four days of walking, Baba Kedar’s palanquin reached Kedarnath Dham yesterday. Tomorrow, on Saturday, May 11, with the opening of the doors of Bhakunt Bhairav Temple in Kedarnath Dham, daily aartis and evening aartis will start in Kedarnath temple.

State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present at the Dham on the occasion of opening of the doors of Kedarnath. He congratulated all the devotees and wished for the prosperity of the country and the state. He said that this time the Chardham Yatra will create a new record. The state government is committed to providing facilities to the pilgrims.
