Uttarakhand: CM reached Ground Zero to take stock of Chardham Yatra in Barkot, Uttarkashi

Despite the unexpected crowd gathering in the initial phase of Chardham Yatra, the Dhami government of the state is standing at the forefront to overcome every challenge with full alertness. Chief Minister Dhami was in Haryana yesterday on an election tour, but without any delay he suddenly left the tour and reached the Secretariat in Dehradun and held an important meeting with high officials. The result was that even before 24 hours had passed, the journey was now going on smoothly and smoothly. Many top officials of Team Dhami are already on the Chardham Yatra routes. Meanwhile, on Friday morning he again held a meeting with his officials at the Secretariat and left for Barkot to take stock of ground zero.

Since the doors of Char Dham opened on May 10 and May 12, this time the number of pilgrims is creating a new record. On the other hand, the Dhami government is committed to ensure smooth, safe and uninterrupted travel of the passengers. It is noteworthy that last year when the doors of Yamunotri Dham were opened, a total of 6,838 devotees had come whereas this year, 12,193 pilgrims came on the day of opening of the doors. That means double the number of devotees arrived. Similarly, at the opening of Kedarnath Dham last year, 18,335 devotees were present, this year around 29 thousand devotees were present, which is almost 75 percent more. Overall, more devotees are reaching Chardham than expected, due to which some problems arose in the initial days, but adequate steps are being taken to overcome these. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dhami, his secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram and other officials have already been deployed in Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag districts. The result was that working with the local administration helped in arranging things.

Here, on Thursday, CM Dhami was on an election tour in Haryana, but sensing the delicateness of the situation, Dhami reached Dehradun in the afternoon itself and held a high level meeting here. The CM clearly said in the meeting that passengers coming without registration should be turned back and instead the transport department should do spot checking. Pilgrims should be sent as per the capacity of the Dhams and where there is a need to hold them, they should be provided with basic facilities like food, water, parking etc. The effect of this meeting taken by CM Dhami was that even before 24 hours had passed, the Yatra is now running smoothly at many places. Even for the large number of YouTubers, guidelines were issued that making reels within 50 meters of the Dhams would be prohibited. At the same time, this morning again CM Dhami reached the Secretariat and without any delay he reviewed the entire situation with the officers and along with giving necessary instructions, he himself left for Barkot to see the condition of Ground Zero. Chief Minister Dhami said that this time unexpected crowd is definitely gathering in the Dhams but the Yatra has been arranged through team effort. He said that Yatra is very important for the economy of Uttarakhand and arrangements are being made smoothly with the cooperation of local residents and administration.
