Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary reached Tehri, inspected the rafting arrangements from Tapovan to Kodiala

While taking stock of the rafting arrangements, the Chief Secretary inspected Kharasrot Parking III and Put in Point Brahmapuri in Ganga River and appreciated the systematic rafting. During this, he talked about creating a market for rafters, emphasizing on online registration system, taking drone footage of rafting and taking further action to take punitive/challan action against those violating the river rafting and kayaking rules at the district administration level. The District Magistrate said that the second phase of work is being done at Kharasrot, the temporary parking place built for rafters, in which CC works as well as other works are to be done.
Additional Chief Executive Officer (Adventure Wing) UTDB Colonel Ashwini Pundir said that 263 firms are registered in Ganga River and there are 576 rafts. Whereas 29 firms are registered in Alaknanda River and there are 65 rafts. He said that Sulabh toilets/changing rooms have been built near the ticket counter. Repair work has been done on all the footpaths going to the river from the road. The process of transfer of forest land for permanent construction work at put in and pull out points such as Neem Beach, Brahmapuri, Shivpuri, Marine Drive is in its final stage. With the help of National Water Worm Institute Goa, about 400 guides were given life saving training at Adventure Sports Academy Koti Colony Tehri.
During this, the Chief Secretary took stock of the Char Dham Yatra arrangements and inspected the Kedarnath/Badrinath and Gangotri/Yamunotri Dham Yatri Registration Check Center at Bhadrakali. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said that vehicles are being sent forward only after checking the registration of passengers at Bhadrakali, the tri-junction point of Char Dham Yatra. The traffic system in the district is running smoothly and systematically. The Chief Secretary asked to maintain continuous arrangements in view of the convenience and safety of the passengers.
On this occasion, DFO Jeevan Dagade, ADM KK Mishra, ASP Tehri JR Joshi, ASP Pauri, ARTO Satendra Raj, SDM Devendra Negi and other related officers were present.
