Uttarakhand: A bus carrying devotees to Purnagiri Dham met with an accident, 11 devotees died, many injured

News of a major road accident is coming from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. A bus carrying devotees coming to Purnagiri Dham in Uttarakhand met with an accident on Khutar-Gola road late Saturday night. 11 devotees died in the accident. While 20 to 25 devotees are said to be injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The accident is said to have happened around 10:30 pm on Saturday night. According to the information received, a bus full of devotees was going to visit Purnagiri Dham on Khutar-Gola road. There were about 80 devotees in the bus. The bus of passengers had stopped to eat at a dhaba near the town on Khutar-Gola road. Some devotees got off the bus and went to eat. While many people were sitting inside the bus.

11 devotees died

Around 10:30 pm, a dumper loaded with gravel going from Khutar to Gola hit a bus parked on the side and overturned on the bus. The accident was so terrible that 11 devotees died. While 20 to 25 devotees are said to be injured. After getting information about the incident, the police team reached the spot. The police rescued the injured and took them to the hospital with the help of an ambulance. The reason for the accident is believed to be the dumper driver dozing off.
