Gujarat: HC calls fire in gaming zone a man-made disaster, seeks response from municipal corporations of four districts

Everyone is scared after hearing about the fire incident in a game zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. So far 27 people have died in this incident. This accident happened in TRP Game Zone of Rajkot. The owner and manager of the game zone have been taken into custody. At the same time, a special bench of Gujarat High Court took suo motu cognizance of the matter on Sunday. Also, regarding the accident, it said that prima facie it is a man-made disaster.
The bench of Justice Biren Vaishnav and Justice Devan Desai said that such game zones have been built without taking necessary approval from the authorities. The bench directed the lawyers of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot Municipal Corporations to appear before it on Monday and tell under which provisions of law these units have been established or continued in their jurisdiction.

The bench said that in the initial stage it seems that this accident is a man-made disaster. The court further said that highly inflammable materials like petrol, fibre glass sheets were stored in the Rajkot game zone where the fire broke out. Now the matter will be heard on Monday.
