Tenure of administrators extended by three months

The civic elections in Uttarakhand have been delayed once again. The tenure of administrators in the civic bodies has been extended by the government by 3 months. Let us tell you that earlier on 2 December, the tenure of administrators was fixed by the government for 6 months. Which was fixed till 2 June, but when the date of 2 June came, the government has extended the tenure of administrators for 3 months.

Civic elections not held on time even after the court’s order

Even after the court’s order to conduct the elections on time, the civic elections in Uttarakhand did not take place on time. Regarding which the state government is considering the Lok Sabha elections as the reason that the civic elections have been delayed due to the code of conduct of the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, the BJP also says that the code of conduct of the Lok Sabha elections is in place till 6 June. Which has become the reason for the delay. But now whenever the Election Commission announces the dates of the elections, both the government and the party are fully prepared for the elections.

The government is working to postpone the elections

Regarding the extension of the tenure of administrators, the Congress says that Urban Development Minister Premchand Agarwal is repeatedly giving the statement that the government is ready for the elections. Even after this, why is the government not able to conduct the civic elections on time. Once again the government has postponed the elections for 3 more months.

How much more will have to wait?

Many questions are being raised after the extension of the tenure of administrators. If the government wanted, elections could have been held on time because when the tenure of the bodies ended on 2 December 2023, the government could have held elections even before that. After this, elections could also be held within 6 months. But no one has any exact answer as to why the elections have been delayed. At present, elections are being cited as the reason for this. But the question that is arising is how long will we have to wait for the civic elections?
