Uttarakhand: CM Dhami held a review meeting regarding preparations for monsoon, gave clear instructions to the officials, negligence will not be tolerated

Monsoon can knock in Uttarakhand anytime. Monsoon brings disaster rains in Uttarakhand every year. This is the reason why every year the government starts preparing for the monsoon in time, so that there is minimum loss of life and property during monsoon rains. On Tuesday, June 11, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting at the Uttarakhand Secretariat regarding monsoon preparations.

During the meeting, CM Dhami gave strict instructions to the officials and said that negligence in disaster management will not be tolerated during the monsoon season. In such a situation, all the officers should remain on alert mode and complete all the work related to disaster management within the stipulated time.

The CM said that the entire state is sensitive in terms of disaster, but Almora district falls in the most sensitive area. In such a situation, SDRF should be deployed especially in Almora district. Being a hilly state, the monsoon season is always a challenge for the government, due to which all preparations should be completed within the stipulated time to deal with excessive rainfall and disaster.

Along with this, special arrangements should be made to deal with the disaster by identifying the areas where more disasters occurred last year. Instructing the officials associated with the disaster department, CM Dhami said that the drains, irrigation canals and canals should be cleaned before June 15. If the problem of waterlogging arises anywhere in the Municipal Corporation and Municipality areas, then work related to the solution of the problem of waterlogging should also be done in those areas.

Apart from this, special caution should be taken in disaster and landslide prone areas. JCBs should be deployed at various places to open the roads that get obstructed during the monsoon season. All District Magistrates should also release funds as soon as possible for the works to be done under the disaster head.

The CM said that during the disaster, pregnant women need to be airlifted many times from the hilly areas, arrangements should be made for that in advance. Apart from this, to prevent waterborne diseases, the health department should also spray medicines from time to time and take action as per the prescribed standards.
