Uttarakhand: Niti Aayog will form a joint working group to prevent forest fires, MP Anil Baluni met the Vice President

On the initiative of Garhwal MP Anil Baluni, NITI Aayog is going to take important steps to deal with the problem of forest fire in Uttarakhand. For this, the Commission has decided to form a joint working group with the ministries of environment and forest, finance and home. This group will conduct a comprehensive study on this growing problem.

In this regard, MP Baluni met NITI Aayog Vice President Suman Beri in New Delhi on Wednesday. Baluni expressed concern before the Vice President about the frequent massive forest fires in the Himalayan states, especially in Uttarakhand, and the heavy loss of life and property along with the environment, wildlife. The MP said that the problem of forest fire is serious every summer in the mountainous districts of Uttarakhand, cases of forest fires are increasing year after year. Due to this, the economy of the state is also suffering huge losses.

Need to make long-term policies

During the talks, the demand was emphasized that there is a need to make far-sighted and long-term policies in the plans to prevent this problem. Also, there is a need to make separate provisions in the budget for hill states so that major steps can be taken to maintain the balance between mountains and forests.

NITI Aayog Vice President Suman Beri assured that every necessary step will be taken to prevent forest fires in hilly regions. Along with this, long-term policies and plans will be made so that such incidents can be prevented and the growing problem can be dealt with in a better way.
