Nomination process begins for by-elections to Badrinath and Mangalore assembly seats in Uttarakhand, 2.25 lakh voters will cast their votes

By-elections are to be held on two assembly seats of Uttarakhand. For which the Election Commission of India had announced the dates on June 10. In such a situation, the nomination process has started from June 14 on two assembly seats of the state, Mangalore and Badrinath assembly seats. According to the dates released, the election related notification has been issued on June 14 and pasted at the district headquarters. Also, the sale of nomination papers has also started. In such a situation, any candidate who wants to contest the by-election can take the nomination form.

According to the notification issued by the Election Commission of India, voting will be held on July 10. Counting of votes will be done on July 13. After the announcement of the election dates, while on the one hand the Chief Electoral Office got busy in preparing for the election, on the other hand, political parties also started the process of selecting candidates. At present, BJP has announced the names of candidates from both the assembly seats. Whereas till now Congress has not even decided the names of candidates for the by-election.

In view of the by-elections to be held on both the assembly seats of the state, the voting process will be completed at 342 polling booths. Voting will be held at 210 polling booths in Badrinath assembly seat and 132 polling booths in Mangalore assembly seat. Along with this, there are a total of 2,22,075 general voters and 2821 service voters in both the assembly seats, who will vote. There are a total of 119,930 general voters and 255 service voters in Mangalore assembly seat. Similarly, there are a total of 102,145 general voters and 2566 service voters in Badrinath assembly seat.

  • The last date for filing nominations is June 21
  • The nomination papers will be scrutinized on June 24
  • The last date for withdrawal of nominations is June 26
  • Voting will be held on both the assembly seats on July 10
  • The election results will be declared along with the counting of votes on July 13
  • The election process will be completed by July 15
