Uttarakhand: Forest officer dies under suspicious circumstances, chaos in the department, investigation underway

There was a stir after the body of the forest inspector of Sharda Range was found in Kilpura Range of Forest Division. Murder is suspected as injury marks were found on the body of the forest inspector. Police has taken the body in its custody and sent it for postmortem. There is a stir in the forest department since the incident.
Forest inspector dies under suspicious circumstances
According to the information received, Forest Inspector Deep Chandra Upreti (47) was posted at the Colony Outpost of Sharda Range Tanakpur. It is being told that on Saturday, the forest inspector had gone to Biria Majhola through the forest to get household items. During this time, fire watcher Subhash Joshi was also with him. When he felt thirsty, the forest inspector sat down on the way and sent Subhash to get water.
He was missing since Saturday
When fire watcher Subhash returned, the forest inspector was not present there. Subhash informed the staff of the army water outpost present nearby. After this, this information was given to the Tanakpur Ranger. The ranger sent a team to the spot to search for the forest inspector but the forest inspector could not be found.
The body of the forest inspector was found in the forest during patrolling
On Monday, the forest workers of Kilpura range were patrolling the forest. During this, the forest workers saw the body of forest inspector Deep Chandra Upreti in Plan Number 2a Dogari section. The forest department informed CO Khatima about the incident. On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and took the body of the deceased and sent it for post-mortem.
Injury marks found on the body of the deceased inspector
Regarding the matter, SP City Rudrapur Manoj Katyal said that injury marks have been found on the body of the deceased inspector. Prima facie, murder is suspected. The entire matter is being investigated thoroughly. The cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem report comes.
