There has been a lot of anger among the people for the last several days regarding the cutting of green trees in Cantt Road and Khalanga in Dehradun. Although CM Dhami has banned the cutting of trees, but the anger of the people has not yet subsided. Nor has the concern of environmentalists reduced. Today, to save green trees from being cut in Doon, a Save Environment padyatra was taken out from Dilaram Bazaar to Centrio Mall.

Environment lovers took out Save Environment padyatra

Even though the CM has banned the cutting of green trees in Cantt Road and Khalanga in the capital Doon. But the concern of environmentalists has not reduced even a bit. Hundreds of people took to the streets on Sunday morning with the resolution of how to stop trees from falling prey to development in Doon. A Save Environment padyatra was taken out from Dilaram Bazaar to Centrio Mall.

Temperature is continuously increasing due to reduction in greenery

Many different organizations took part in the Save Environment padyatra. Environmentalists said that the greenery of Doon is decreasing due to continuous cutting of trees. Due to less greenery, the temperature here is increasing rapidly. Along with this, the gardens of Doon have been destroyed. Due to cutting of trees, the water sources here have also dried up.

The government will have to save the trees from being cut

Environmentalists who participated in the Save Environment Padyatra said that there has been encroachment on rivers and streams. Thousands of trees are being cut to widen the roads. They said that the government will have to save the trees from being cut. Environmentalists say that if trees continue to be cut in this manner, then forget about a developed India in 2047, this Doon Valley will be devoid of greenery by 2037 itself.
