Uttarakhand: Vigilance team arrested sub-inspector and head constable while taking bribe

According to the information received from the sources, Vigilance has detained Sub Inspector Saurabh Rathi by raiding the LIU office located in Kotwali Ramnagar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s strict action against corruption continues. In this sequence, today the Vigilance took action and arrested Inspector Saurabh Rathi and Head Constable Gurpreet Singh posted in Live red handed while taking bribe.

According to the media report, SP Vigilance Dhirendra Gunjyal has given information that the complainant had complained on the anti-corruption helpline number and WhatsApp number of Vigilance. The complaint made two days ago was found to be correct on investigation and today Inspector Saurabh Rathi and Head Constable Gurpreet Singh, both posted in LIU, have been arrested while taking bribe. Both these people were demanding a bribe of Rs 2500 in the name of passport renewal. Today, the trap team laid a trap and arrested both of them while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 and further action is underway. SP Dhirendra Gunjyal said that on the basis of the complaint, in front of the trap team, Inspector Saurabh Rathi had pointed towards Gurpreet for giving the money and the victim had given the money to Head Constable Gurpreet, hence both of them have been arrested.
