Bihar: The female constable kept begging for her salary… DSP kept beating her! Now the SP has ordered an investigation

A female constable in Motihari has made a serious allegation of assault on the DSP and other personnel of her own department. Constable Poonam Kumari says that it cost her dearly to request for the salary which was withheld since 2022. The DSP beat her up in the police line, after which she suffered head and eye injuries and is undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital. Poonam Kumari was reinstated in 2018. She was suspended in 2022 on charges of negligence in duty. Her salary has been stopped since the suspension.

She had gone to the police line to ask for salary

Poonam alleges that when she requested the DSP for her withheld salary, he beat her up in the police line. Poonam, who was admitted to Sadar Hospital after the incident, alleges that she was abused, kicked and punched and suffered injuries to her head, eye and waist. After the incident, she fainted and was taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Poonam Kumari’s salary was withheld for several months. She had tried to meet the SP several times earlier to demand the release of her salary, but was unsuccessful.

SP ordered an investigation

After the case came to light, SP Kantesh Kumar Mishra has ordered ASP Shikhar Chaudhary to investigate. The SP said that action will be taken against those found guilty in the investigation. Let us tell you that Poonam Kumari is a constable of 2018 batch. Earlier also, she was beaten up during her posting at Kalyanpur police station.
