Uttarakhand: In Dehradun, he stayed in a house for 6 months posing as a fake IAS, then took away Rs 22 lakh by threatening to make his obscene photos viral

On August 20, 2023, the aunt’s daughter living in the neighborhood introduced the accused youth to the victim couple as her friend and asked them to keep the house on rent and told that he is an IAS officer and is currently on study leave. After living for about six months, the fake IAS duped both the husband and wife of lakhs of rupees separately and also absconded with the jewellery.
Fake IAS Officer Absconds After Defrauding Lakhs in Dehradun
Santosh Sharma, a businessman resident of Grant, has lodged a complaint with the SSP, in which he told that his aunt’s family lives in the neighborhood. On August 20, 2023, the aunt’s daughter brought her friend Himanshu Juyal, resident of Ghaziabad, with her and introduced him as an IAS officer and told that he is currently on study leave. Himanshu informed that he is doing PhD and his appointment is in FCI Balrampur. Along with this, he also showed his ID card of LBS Academy Mussoorie and told that both of them will get married soon. On the basis of this evidence, Santosh Sharma started believing Himanshu.
Fraud with a government job
Believing the words of the aunt’s daughter, he kept Himanshu on rent at his place. After a few days, Himanshu claimed that his uncle Birendra Juyal is a director in All India Horticulture and with his contacts he can easily get any big work done, even get the victim a job in FCI. It had been almost six months since Himanshu started living here. One day he told that his house is being built in Ghaziabad and he needs help for this work. Believing him, the victim gave Himanshu Rs 6 lakh 23 thousand. After this Himanshu went to his home in Ghaziabad.
Borrowed money from wife too
It is alleged that Himanshu took Rs 8.26 lakh from his wife by promising to build his house in Ghaziabad. The victim’s wife was assured that he would return the money soon and advised not to tell this to her husband. On January 15, 2024, Himanshu suddenly disappeared. The accused stole the victim’s mobile worth Rs 1.26 lakh and jewelry worth Rs seven lakh from the house. When he did not return from Ghaziabad, the victim tried to contact him but he kept evading every time.
Threatened to make obscene photos viral
The accused met the victim at Delhi’s Palam Metro station on March 24, 2024 and showed him objectionable photos of his wife and threatened that if he told anyone about this, he would make his wife’s obscene photos viral. After being in the trap of the accused for months, the victim finally got fed up and complained to the police. In this way, the fake IAS absconded after cheating Rs 22 lakh. Patel Nagar Kotwali in-charge Kamal Singh said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim Santosh Sharma, a case has been registered against the accused Himanshu Juyal. The police is investigating the matter and the search for the accused is also on.
