Uttarakhand: Work started to open the blocked road in Sonprayag for Kedarnath Dham Yatra; CM Dhami’s constant monitoring accelerated the pace of work

Last day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while taking stock of the damage caused by the disaster on July 31 in Kedarghati and the relief and rescue operations, had instructed the officials to restore normal life as soon as possible and to promptly repair the blocked travel route in the damaged national highway and footpath.

Executive Engineer National Highway Nirbhay Singh has informed that in order to follow the instructions given by the Chief Minister and the District Magistrate, the one and a half meter national highway between Sonprayag and Gaurikund was completely damaged, work has been started to open the national highway through Pokland machine. Along with this, the construction work of the road which was damaged near the Sonprayag bridge has also been started.

Executive Engineer DDMA Vinay Jhinkwan has informed that the Kedarnath walking route has been damaged at many places and there are about 15 places where the footpath has been completely damaged. He said that to repair the Kedarnath Yatra route, repair and construction work is being done continuously by the workers in difficult circumstances.

He said that the damaged trekking route from Kedarnath Dham to Chhoti Lincholi has been made operational for movement. He also said that the workers are working at a fast pace to open the damaged Kedarnath Yatra route, but due to bad weather, the work is not being done continuously in view of the safety of the workers.
