BSNL’s new initiative, now over the air facility will be available on 4G, 5G network

India’s public sector government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) is preparing to launch its 4G and 5G network in the country soon. To work on this, BSNL is going to introduce facilities like Over the Air and Universal SIM Platform to work on 4G and 5G networks. Due to this facility, customers will be able to change their SIM without any geographical restrictions and will also be able to port their number.

OTA is a method of connecting the device to the test equipment. BSNL said that this platform, developed in collaboration with Pyro Holdings, was inaugurated in Chandigarh. It also includes a disaster ‘recovery site’ in Trichy.

Gradually starting 4G network

BSNL said on Friday, “The new 4G and 5G suitable platform has been designed to provide better connectivity and service quality to all BSNL customers across the country.” The company is gradually launching 4G network across the country.

The statement said, “BSNL is improving the network for 4G and 5G. In such a situation, the launch of this platform is in line with this step … It is an important step in BSNL’s efforts to bridge the digital divide and empower citizens in rural and remote areas and ensure equal access to state-of-the-art telecom services. ”

The statement said that the Over-the-Air (OTA) and Universal SIM (USIM) platform provides BSNL mobile customers the facility to choose a mobile number instantly and enables SIM change without geographical restrictions.
