Uttarakhand: Government will bring supplementary budget in Gairsain assembly session, proposal will be approved in cabinet meeting

The state government will also bring a supplementary budget during the assembly session in Gairsain (Bharadisain). The Finance Department has almost prepared the proposal for the supplementary budget and the proposal will be brought for approval in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

Notification for a three-day assembly session from August 21 in Gairsain has been issued. Let us tell you that the state government had approved a budget of Rs 89,230.07 crore for the financial year 2024-25 in February. However, the government has sufficient budget for the current expenditure, but it will need funds in the coming months.

Since the next assembly session is likely to be held by December, the Finance Department has made preparations to bring a supplementary budget in view of advance preparations. According to Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Anand Bardhan, the demand of most of the departments has been received. There are a few more departments, which will send the demand by Monday. The Finance Department will prepare a proposal after reviewing them.

Instructions to departments to increase budget expenditure

After the monsoon, the departments will have to speed up the budget expenditure. The Additional Chief Secretary Finance has issued instructions to the departments from time to time in this regard. After the rainy season ends, the departmental level has been asked to focus on the works related to infrastructure development. According to official sources, the pace of expenditure in the first quarter has been around the same as last year. The Finance Department has expected a lot of improvement in this in the next quarter.
