Uttarakhand: Disaster Management Secretary reached the control room on the second day to take stock of the situation and said – rural roads should be opened on priority
Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman on Saturday also reached the State Emergency Operations Center located at USDMA and took stock of the situation in all the districts in view of the monsoon. During this, he took information about the water level of various rivers, blocked road routes and rain in the state.
Regarding the alert of heavy rains by the Meteorological Department, Hon’ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the control room on Friday and reviewed the situation of all the districts. During this, he directed all the District Magistrates to remain on alert mode. He had instructed Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman to coordinate with all the District Magistrates and deal with any disaster situation effectively.
On Saturday, Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman reached the control room and discussed in detail with the experts and nodal officers of USDMA on the condition of damaged roads, electricity, water as well as travel routes due to rain. He directed all the nodal officers posted in the control room to exchange information related to their respective departments in a timely manner. He directed the PWD officials to open the closed rural roads on priority as soon as possible. He said that due to the closure of rural roads, the supply of essential commodities to the villages gets affected, so it is necessary to open them on priority basis.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi, Finance Controller Abhishek Anand, Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohd. Obaidullah Ansari, USDMA experts DD Dalakoti, Manish Bhagat, Hemant Bisht, Dr. Pooja Rana, Rohit Kumar, Dr. Vedika Pant, Tandrila Sarkar, Jessica Teron etc. were present.

Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman has directed the District Disaster Management Officers to do a detailed study of the disasters that occurred during this monsoon season. He said that this year commendable relief and rescue work has been done by various agencies, but the shortcomings that remain are also important to be evaluated so that good planning can be done for the future.
Monitoring of 16 places from control room
Dehradun. Apart from Kedarnath temple, now 15 more places are being monitored live from the State Emergency Operation Center located at USDMA. USDMA system expert Hemant Bisht said that these include the back side of Kedarnath temple, Bhairav bridge, Rudrapoint, Linchauli, Bhimbali, Jungle Chatti, Shuttle Bridge, Munkatiya, Gaurikund, Sonprayag etc. He said that these areas are being monitored directly from the control room located at USDMA through CCTV cameras.
