The verdict in the country’s most talked about blackmail-rape case in Ajmer has come after 32 years. The court has convicted six of the remaining seven accused and sentenced them. The accused involved in this case are Nafees Chishti, Naseem alias Tarzan, Salim Chishti, Iqbal Bhati, Sohail Ghani and Syed Zameer Hussain. The court has sentenced all these accused to life imprisonment.

They would feed them intoxicants and then rape them
The then president of Ajmer Youth Congress, Farooq Chishti, his friend Nafees and his henchmen used to target college girls in this wrong act. They would call girls to farmhouses and restaurants in the name of parties and gangrape them after giving them intoxicants. After this, they would take their nude pictures. Then they would blackmail the girls and pressurize them to bring other girls with them. In this way, one girl after another got trapped in their clutches.
18 people were accused
The masterminds of this case were Ajmer Youth Congress president Farooq Chishti, Nafees Chishti and Anwar Chishti. As soon as the names of the influential people came to light, the police started suppressing the matter. When things got worse, the then Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government of Rajasthan handed over the investigation to the CID. A total of 18 people were accused in this case.
18 victims gave statements in court
On the other hand, before the case was revealed, some girls mustered up the courage to go to the police, but the police only recorded the statements and shelved the case. On the other hand, the accused started threatening the girls who gave statements. However, later 18 victims gave statements against the accused in court. The rest of the girls went underground.
