After the cyber attack in the state, preparations are underway to provide cyber security to all departments. In this series, a detailed action plan is being prepared for all departments. It will also include the deployment of nodal officers for cyber security in all departments and conducting quarterly or half-yearly audits.
After the cyber attack on October 2 in the state, the reality of cyber security has come to the fore. It has come to light that no concrete action plan has been made for cyber security in the departments. The websites of many departments have not been updated for many years.
It has also been observed that the websites have been created through private cooperation and not through government experts. The anti-viruses that have been inserted in the departmental system have also not been updated. In such a situation, these websites are a very easy target for hackers. They can be easily hacked.
The state government has run many schemes online
At present, the state government has run many schemes online. For this, data of beneficiaries has been created at the departmental level. All the information regarding the beneficiaries has been kept in it. Along with this, they are also being given the benefit online. In such a situation, if these departmental sites become the target of cyber attack, then it can cause a lot of damage. All these are also connected to the State Data Center.
It is obvious that the security of the State Data Center can also be at risk through these. This is also the reason that now the Information Technology Department is making a detailed action plan for cyber security for all the departments. Along with this, preparations are also underway to train all the personnel regarding cyber security.
Secretary Information Technology Nitesh Jha says that work is going on to make an action plan for this. In which, along with securing the departmental website, training will also be given to the personnel.
