Uttarakhand: Government takes big action regarding land law, Raja Bhaiya’s wife’s land worth crores vested

Regarding strong land law in Uttarakhand, the state government has taken major action in Betalghat block of the district. In Siltona of Betalghat block, 27.5 Nali land occupied in the name of Bhanvi Singh, wife of Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, MLA of Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, in the year 2007 has been vested in the state government. On Friday, the Revenue Department officials have taken possession of the land.

UP MLA Raja Bhaiya had purchased 27.5 Nali land in the name of his wife Bhanvi Singh in Siltona of Betalghat from local resident Anand Ballabh in the year 2007. Due to no farming related work being done on this 0.555 hectare land for a long time, on Friday, Patwari Ravi Pandey inspected the land along with regional public representatives and villagers.

In violation of Section 154 (4) (3) (b) of the ZALR Act 1950, the land has been vested to the state government under Section 167 on June 25, 2024. The Patwari took possession of the land on Friday in the presence of public representatives. SDM VC Pant of Shri Kainchi Dham said that the lands purchased in the tehsil area are being investigated. In this sequence, the land in the name of the wife of the UP MLA has been vested to the state government.
