The atmosphere in the peaceful valleys of Chamoli district has become very tense. Suddenly section 163 has been implemented in Gauchar. Actually, after an argument between two youths in Gauchar, both of them started fighting. The dispute increased so much that the police and other local people had to come for mediation.

After Karnaprayag, Tharali, a case has also escalated in Gauchar. The dispute between two youths in Gauchar increased so much that the police had to reach the spot to calm the matter. It is being told that the two youths who had a dispute belong to different communities. People from both sides came to mediate between the two and the matter escalated.
People closed the market in Gauchar
On getting the news of this matter, people became furious and some people started vandalizing the shops. In no time, the entire Gauchar market was closed by the people. After closing the market, people started sit-in demonstrations in Gauchar. Even the traders started taking out processions in the market. Due to which the police had to impose Section 163 (which was Section 144 of CrPC and is now Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code) in the area.
