Uttarakhand: Congress’ survey on Kedarnath by-election candidate complete, now observers will visit…one name will be finalized soon

Congress has completed the survey for the winning candidate in Kedarnath by-election and has submitted the report to state president Karan Mahara. Soon, the observers will also visit Kedarnath assembly constituency and take feedback from the party officials and workers about the candidate. On the basis of the survey and the report of the observers, the high command will declare the candidate.

Internal tussle and factionalism is coming to the fore in the Congress regarding the name of the candidate. The names of former MLA Manoj Rawat, district president Kunwar Sajwan, former minister Harak Singh Rawat are being discussed in the race for the ticket. Encouraged by the victory in Badrinath and Mangalore by-elections, Congress is claiming victory in the Kedarnath by-election.

But, due to the tussle and factionalism within the party regarding the candidate, the election edge of the Congress seems to be blunted. However, a survey was conducted by the party in Kedarnath assembly for a winning candidate. The report of which has been received by state Congress president Karan Mahara. Now the observers appointed by the party will hold meetings and know the opinion of the officials and workers.

Mahara gets another jolt due to interference of state in-charge

State Congress president Karan Mahara appointed MLA Bhuvan Kapri and Virendra Jati as observers for Kedarnath by-election. On the second day itself, state in-charge Selja Kumari issued orders to appoint Ganesh Godiyal and Lakhpat Butola as observers. No discussion was held with the state president in this regard. Earlier, Mahara had appointed district presidents for Lok Sabha elections and Badrinath, Mangalore by-elections. State in-charge cancelled these appointments. Mahara is also hurt by the decisions of the state in-charge.
