Women prisoners in Shahjahanpur jail kept fast on Karva Chauth. All the makeup material was provided by the jail administration for their dressing up. Along with this, new saris and suits were provided to women so that they can celebrate their fast of Karva Chauth like at home and they do not feel any kind of lack while staying in jail.

Women in jail were preparing for their makeup for many days and they were also trained to apply mehendi so that they can decorate each other with mehendi.

This year 24 women prisoners in jail kept fast on Karva Chauth, most of whom have husbands also imprisoned in jail. They will also be reunited with their husbands and their fast of Karva Chauth will also be observed traditionally by worshipping their husbands. If the husband of a woman, who is not imprisoned in jail, wants to meet his wife by being present in the jail or if his wife is imprisoned in jail for yoga and wants to call her husband and meet him in the jail, then also she will be allowed to meet him and her fast related puja etc. will be done.
