Emphasis on improving performance before the 38th National Games, Uttarakhand got permission to bring the best coaches from abroad
For the successful organization of the 38th National Games, Sports Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting with the officials of Uttarakhand Olympic Association. In the meeting, many points related to the selection process of the players, including training camps, were discussed in detail. During this, she also talked about full cooperation from her side on the needs of foreign coaches for perfect ‘hand holding’ of the players. Also told that ‘torch relay’ will be taken out from every district.
Camp of selected players will start from 26 October
Sports Minister of Uttarakhand Rekha Arya held a meeting with the officials of Uttarakhand Olympic Association today i.e. on 21 October regarding the preparation of the 38th National Games. In which many topics were discussed in detail. In this meeting, discussions were held with the association regarding the selection process of the players along with their camp. If the association is to be believed, the first camp of the selected players will start from October 26 this month and it will be expanded in the future.
Emphasis on providing coaches for players
In the meeting, there was also a consensus on providing excellent coaches for the players and it was decided that coaches, whether from within the country or from abroad, will be made available to the players. Minister Arya said that the state government has set a target of coming in the top five in the medal tally of the National Games. All necessary steps are being taken continuously to ensure that the state gets as many medals as possible.
According to Sports Minister Rekha Arya, a proposal has been prepared by the Sports Department that in the National Games to be held next year, the medal winning players of the state will be given double the amount as a reward as compared to the present amount. She said that currently in the state, the player winning the gold medal in the National Games gets a cash amount of 6 lakhs. If the Finance Department approves, then this amount will become 12 lakh rupees. Similarly, the amount will also increase for other medals.
Only 38 sports will be included in the 38th National Games
She said that only 38 sports will be organized in the 38th National Games. 34 sports in it will be the already included sports. Whereas, four sports related to the state will also be included. Out of these four sports, Mallakhamb and Yoga will be included. Whereas, the decision on the remaining two sports will be taken in the meeting to be held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
It was also decided in today’s meeting that before the National Games, a ‘Torch Rally’ will be taken out in all the districts of the state. So that, as many players and people as possible can be connected to it. At the same time, Minister Rekha Arya said that Uttarakhand Olympic Association (Uttarakhand Olympic Association) is being supported at every level for the successful organization of the National Games. The common effort of all is that the best players should be prepared in the state.
