Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is going to be implemented in Uttarakhand soon. The expert committee has handed over the draft of the UCC rules to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. CM Dhami said that UCC is being implemented so that everyone gets equal justice and equal opportunity. During this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that we had promised before the elections that we will bring UCC after forming the government. After passing from the Assembly and getting approval from President Draupadi Murmu, it will now be implemented in the state. The draft of the rules for the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand has been received. A cabinet meeting will be held soon for the date of implementation of the uniform code, it will be decided when it will be implemented. I have said in the beginning that it is not against anyone. No one has been brought by targeting and it is for the equality of all.
Seven steps have been completed to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). As soon as the eighth step is taken, Uttarakhand will become the first state in the country, which will have uniform laws instead of personal laws of different religions. Where women of every religion will be the most empowered as compared to other states. Live-in-relationships will also be brought under the purview of law.

- Before the 2022 general elections, the government announced the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand.
- In the first meeting after the formation of the government, it was decided to implement UCC.
- An expert committee was formed under the chairmanship of retired judge Ranjana Prakash Desai.
- After submitting the report of the committee, the bill was passed in the state assembly on February 7.
- The UCC Act was passed on March 12 with the consent of the President.
- A special committee was formed under the chairmanship of retired IAS Shatrughan Singh for the rules and implementation of UCC, which held about 140 meetings regarding the making of the rules.
- The rules were prepared and submitted to the government on October 18.
- The government will soon implement UCC after holding a cabinet meeting.
