In Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, there was a sudden blast in firecrackers near 3 people going on a scooty. 1 person died in this. A total of 6 people including 3 people standing on the road at the time of the blast were injured. They are being treated in the hospital. The incident happened on Diwali day and its CCTV video came out late Thursday night.

According to media reports, 2 people on a white scooty are going at a high speed through a narrow lane. The time was 12.17 pm. The scooty rider had a carton of ‘onion bomb’ in his hand. The road of the lane widens ahead and meets the main road, when the scooty reaches there, suddenly there was a pit, due to which the carton fell down and a loud blast occurred.

According to reports, the sound of this blast was as loud as an IED bomb. After the explosion, smoke rose in the area. Pieces of paper flew all around. As soon as the smoke cleared, two people somehow escaped from the explosion and ran towards a safe place. In the CCTV footage, some pieces of the scooter can be seen scattered far and wide.

Police said that the deceased workers have been identified as V. Shrivalli (42) and G. Sunita (35). Five others who were seriously injured have been admitted to the Tanuku Government Hospital. Nine workers have suffered minor injuries. According to the police, Ram Shivaji was running a firecracker manufacturing unit. He also had a license for it.
