Uttarakhand: Road accident in Almora, car lost control and fell into a deep ditch, one dead, four injured

Last night in Almora, a car lost control and fell into a deep ditch in Silari area under Someshwar area. A woman died in the accident. While four people are said to be injured.

Car lost control and fell into a deep ditch
The accident is said to have happened on Friday night. According to information received from the police, it was reported late at night that a Hyundai I20 car fell into a ditch about 100 meters deep from the road in Silari area under Revenue Area Tehsil Someshwar area. It is being told that the car was going from Ranikhet to Kausani.

One woman died in the accident
The rescue team reached the spot as soon as the information was received. After a lot of hard work, the rescue team pulled out the injured from the 100 meter deep ditch. It is being told that there were five people in the car during the accident. All the five injured were sent to Govind Singh Mahara Hospital Ranikhet. Where one woman was declared dead by the doctors.

The accident happened due to the driver falling asleep. The injured undergoing treatment have been referred to the higher center Haldwani. Prima facie, the cause of the accident is being said to be the driver falling asleep. The deceased has been identified as Kranti Negi (36) daughter of Kishan Singh Negi, resident of Kotdwar. While Neel Rawat (14) son of Neelam, Neelam Singh Rawat (47) son of Fateh Singh Rawat, Neetu Rawat (43) wife of Neelam Singh Rawat, resident of Dehradun, Anil Singh Negi (47) son of Kishan Singh are injured.
