Uttarakhand: To prevent migration, a meeting of the Migration Prevention Commission was held under the chairmanship of CM Dhami in Bharadisain Assembly premises
To stop the migration from the mountains in the state of Uttarakhand, an important meeting of the Migration Prevention Commission was held in the Vidhan Sabha premises Bharadisain on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In which along with discussing the main reasons for migration, brainstorming was done on meeting the basic needs for its prevention.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is serious about the problem of migration and is working on many schemes to stop it. The state government is continuously working for the development of employment and infrastructure in rural areas. Education and health services are being strengthened. Work is also being done to connect the youth with self-employment through community development programs at the local level. In the last three years, special focus has been done in the field of self-employment. Continuous work is being done to make it more effective.
The Chief Minister said that the government is working on the goal of bringing Uttarakhand in the category of best states by the year 2025. A concrete action plan is being prepared through the concerned departments to implement the suggestions being given by the Migration Prevention Commission. The process is being simplified to benefit maximum number of people from public welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented several schemes to prevent migration in rural areas. Under this, basic facilities are being developed in villages and new employment opportunities are being created. He said that efforts are also being made to connect migrants from the country and abroad with this campaign. Good suggestions have also been received from the migrants to prevent migration, which will be implemented.
In the meeting, the members talked about working on short-term, medium-term and long-term plans with departmental support to prevent migration. While discussing the main reasons for migration from the mountains, emphasis was laid on effective implementation of schemes in the mountains to meet the basic needs.
Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, Vice President of Migration Commission SS Negi and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
