Uttarakhand: Preparations to sell products of women groups on travel routes

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday attended the state-level rural entrepreneurship development workshop organized in Bhararisain. During this, the CM mentioned various schemes of the government to provide self-employment opportunities to women and youth.
Target to make one and a half lakh women Lakhpati Didi by 2025
The CM said that the government aims to make one and a half lakh women “Lakhpati Didi” by 2025. The organization of this workshop held in the summer capital is historic, as important steps are being taken to promote rural entrepreneurship. The CM said that the state government is continuously working to connect rural entrepreneurs and women with self-employment. The CM said that in the last three years, many schemes have been implemented in the self-employment sector, the positive results of which are now visible. CM Dhami said that so far more than one lakh women have become lakhpatis in the state.

CM Dhami said that he has seen his mother working in his childhood, so he knows the difficulties faced by women. CM Dhami further said that now women are producing great products through self-help groups or private efforts, which are in demand all over the world. The government is providing platforms like Saras Mela and House of Himalayas to market these products. The CM said that the government is opening outlets to sell the products of women’s groups on travel routes, and these products will also be sold under House of Himalayas in Delhi.
