Uttarakhand: Police action on overloaded vehicles, DL cancelled if overloading is found

After the Almora accident, the police is engaged in taking action against overloaded vehicles. Almora Traffic Police and Someshwar Police Station conducted a joint checking campaign in collaboration with the Transport Department. During this, the DLs of three overloaded vehicles have been cancelled.

Police tightens its grip on overloaded vehicles

During the joint checking campaign, Almora Traffic Police, Someshwar Police Station team and Transport Department team took challan action under the Motor Vehicles Act against a total of 32 drivers who were overloading, not wearing seat belts, without helmets, over speeding and violating traffic rules.

DLs cancelled after conducting checking campaign

Action has been taken to cancel the DLs of three drivers who were overloading. Which included a roadways bus, KEMU bus and tempo traveller. According to the police, there were 10 extra passengers in the roadways bus, 10 in the KEMU bus and 7 extra passengers in the tempo traveller. According to the police, this campaign will continue in future as well.
