Terrorists again targeted Pakistani army, one commando and 6 terrorists killed in encounter

There has been an encounter between the army and terrorists in Pakistan once again. News agency PTI quoted sources as saying that during a search operation in Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there was firing between security forces and terrorists.

One Pakistani Army commando and six terrorists were killed in this. According to the information, the incident took place on Saturday in the Lur Maudan area of ​​Tirah Valley in Khyber district bordering Afghanistan. One Pakistani Army commando was killed and another injured in the incident. Security forces killed at least six terrorists during the operation.

TTP is active in the area

Sources told the agency that sounds of heavy firing and explosions were heard from the area. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is active in the area and has carried out several attacks targeting security forces. The Pakistani government has repeatedly accused the TTP of operating from hideouts in Afghanistan.

Terrorist incidents in Pakistan have increased since the Taliban took over the government in Kabul in 2021, dashing hopes in Islamabad that a friendly government in Afghanistan would help tackle the insurgency.

Terrorist organization was formed in 2007

According to PTI, the TTP was founded in 2007 as an umbrella group of several terrorist organizations. The Pakistani government has officially declared the banned organization as ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’, a reference to a group involved in violence in earlier Islamic history.

Terrorist attack in Kalat too

Earlier, terrorists targeted a security post at a check post located on a mountain in Johan area of ​​Kalat in Pakistan. Seven security personnel were killed in the attack, while 18 were injured. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations of the Pakistani Army, six terrorists trying to attack a security post near Shah Mardan on Friday night were killed by security forces, while four others were injured. Seven soldiers were also killed during the fierce firing.
