Uttar Pradesh: Raebareli-Lucknow railway route remained closed for hours, passengers raised objections on Vande Bharat train being stopped for three hours

Due to the construction of underpass in Bachhrawan and Shriraj Nagar, the speed of trains was slowed down on Sunday. Six trains were diverted, while the operation of three trains was affected in the evening. Due to this, the passengers had to face trouble. Rail traffic was restored at 9:17 pm. Rae Bareli-Lucknow rail route remained stalled for about 12 hours.

Vande Bharat stood in Rae Bareli for three and a quarter hours

The problem caused by the construction of underpass between Bachhrawan and Shriraj Nagar put a brake on the speed of trains. Vande Bharat stood in the district for three and a quarter hours. Due to this, the passengers had to face a lot of trouble. The train left Rae Bareli for Lucknow at 9:17 pm. Vande Bharat arrived at Rae Bareli station at 6:01 pm. Due to the construction of underpass between Bachhrawan and Shriraj, the work of laying the track could not be completed. Due to this, Vande Bharat train was stopped at Rae Bareli railway station. The train stood at Rae Bareli station till 7:43 pm. After this, it moved ahead and was stopped at Kundanganj before Bachhrawan. On the other hand, the work of laying the railway track was done fast and at 9:17 pm, Vande Bharat left for Lucknow from Bachhrawan.

The work was to be completed at five o’clock

The work for the construction of the underpass started at 9 am. The work was to be completed at five in the evening, but there was a problem of seepage near the Neemtikar underpass. Due to water leakage, there were difficulties in placing the box under the track, which affected the work and due to this the wheels of Vande Bharat, Prayagraj Intercity, Pratapgarh Intercity and Padmavat stopped. Vande Bharat could not move ahead of Rae Bareli for three and a quarter hours, Prayagraj Intercity was stopped for three hours, Padmavat for two hours. Rail traffic was restored at 9:17 pm. When the work of laying the track was completed, Vande Bharat was sent off first. After this, Padmavat left at 9:40. Bachhrawan Railway Station Superintendent Vinod Kumar said that traffic was restored at 9:17. The first train Vande Bharat which was standing for a long time was taken out.

Many trains including Vande Bharat ran on changed route, got delayed

Traffic block was taken on Sunday due to maintenance work between Uttaretia and Raebareli in Northern Railway Lucknow Division. Due to this, 12876 Nilanchal Express was stopped for one hour on the way and then run. Train number 15210 Dehradun Varanasi Janta Express, 22549 Vande Bharat Express and 04256 Lucknow Prayagraj Passenger were run on the changed route via Lucknow, Uttaretia, Sultanpur, Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh station. Due to this, trains got delayed by one to three hours. Block failed on Raebareli route. Due to this, many trains including Prayagraj Lucknow Vande Bharat, Nilanchal Express, Triveni Express Padmavat Express Ganga Gomti Express Pratapgarh Intercity got delayed by three to four hours. The block was supposed to end at 5:25 pm, which got delayed by 4 hours. Passengers also raised objections on social media when Vande Bharat Express was stopped at Rae Bareli station.
