Congress national secretary and Mangalore assembly MLA Qazi Nizamuddin has been given a big responsibility by the party high command. He has been made Delhi AICC in-charge. Qazi Nizamuddin also has an important responsibility of national secretary in the organization.

In a letter issued on Sunday by party general secretary organization KC Venugopal, it was said that Congress national president Mallikarjun Khadke has relieved Deepak Bavariya from the post of Delhi general secretary in-charge, while in his place Mangalore assembly MLA Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin has been appointed as Delhi AICC in-charge.

The top leadership of the Congress has also formed a screening committee for the selection of candidates in view of the assembly elections. In this, Meenakshi Natarajan has been appointed as the chairperson of the committee and Imran Masood and Pradeep Narwal have been made members of the committee. In the letter issued by KC Venugopal, it has been said that all these appointments will be implemented with immediate effect. It is worth noting that Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin had won the Mangalore assembly by-election in Uttarakhand.

Congress candidate Qazi Nizamuddin has been an MLA from Mangalore thrice. In the year 2002, he had contested the first election from Mangalore seat on a BSP ticket and won. He also has the important responsibility of national secretary in the organization. The Congress high command had given him a big responsibility regarding the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and made him the national media coordinator of Kashmir.
