Uttarakhand: Havildar who came home on leave died suddenly, last rites performed on the banks of Alaknanda river

Havildar Mohan Singh Negi, posted in Assam Rifles Nagaland, died suddenly. His last rites were performed with military honours by the 6th Grenadier of the Army based in Rudraprayag.

Sudden death of a Havildar who came home on leave

Havildar Mohan Singh Negi, a resident of Panai village of Gauchar, posted in Assam Rifles Nagaland, had come home on leave. On Sunday, he died suddenly due to a sudden deterioration in his health. On Monday, he was cremated with military honours on the banks of the Alaknanda river below Gauchar Bhattnagar.

He had come home on leave only two days ago

According to the information received, Havildar Mohan Singh Negi, posted in Assam Rifles Nagaland, had come home on leave only two days ago. His health deteriorated late on Saturday night. After which he was taken to the Primary Health Centre Gauchar. From where he was referred to Srinagar. Where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Mourning spread in the village

After the post-mortem, the family brought the body home. On Monday, the 6th Army Gradient based in Rudraprayag was informed about this. After which the Army came and cremated him with military honours at his native ghat. There is mourning in the village after this incident.
