Uttarakhand: FDA lab gets NABL certificate, test report will be valid worldwide, department gets 18 new drug inspectors

The National Testing and Calibration Laboratory Accreditation Board (NABL) has issued a drug testing certificate to the lab in Dehradun, to the analytical laboratory present in the Food Safety and Drug Administration office. In such a situation, the report of this analytical laboratory will be valid all over the world.

Giving more information, Food Safety and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that after getting this certificate, the medicines and cosmetics tested from this lab will get global recognition. Along with this, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has released the result of 19 vacant posts of Drug Inspector Grade-2 in the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department.

Capacity to test more than 2 thousand samples in Dehradun lab

He said that more than three thousand samples have been tested so far in this laboratory started on the guidelines of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. It also has the facility of online certification. This analytical lab has been built with the support of the Central Government at a cost of Rs 7 crore. This state-of-the-art testing lab has been started. This lab has the capacity to test more than two thousand samples per year. Drugs, cosmetics and medical devices can be tested in the lab.

Rudrpur lab has the capacity to test 1000 samples

At the same time, Additional Commissioner Food Safety and Drug Administration Department Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that in this laboratory, tests are done with state-of-the-art machines like HPLC, UV/Visual-Photo, FTIR, GCHS. Whose accuracy is in accordance with international standards. This is the second laboratory in the state after Rudrapur. The laboratory present in Rudrapur has the capacity to test 1000 samples every year, due to which there is extreme pressure on the Rudrapur lab. But after the establishment of this laboratory, the campaign being run against adulterators and those making and selling fake products in the state has gained more momentum.

These products are tested

He said that there are five different laboratories in this laboratory which include Chemistry Testing Lab, Manair, Major, Cosmetic and Micro Biology Lab. Medicines, tablets, cough syrup and cosmetic products are tested in these laboratories. So far, more than three thousand samples have been tested in this hi-tech lab. Five laboratories have been set up here. These include chemical testing lab, measure, weights and measures, cosmetic and microbiology lab.

Second lab in Dehradun after Rudrapur

Let us tell you that before getting the NABL certificate, under the audit process, the lab was evaluated by the evaluation team on various standards and criteria like laboratory infrastructure equipment, personnel qualification-intelligence, quality management system and efficiency testing. However, the lab in Rudrapur has already received the NABL certificate. In such a situation, now the pharmaceutical companies from Uttarakhand will not have to go anywhere else for testing the medicines exported.

The department got 18 new inspectors

At the same time, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, which has been struggling with the shortage of drug inspectors for a long time, has got 18 new inspectors. The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has released the result of 19 vacant posts of Drug Inspector Grade-2 in the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department. Through direct recruitment, 18 youths have been selected for 19 posts. One post was reserved for other backward classes, for which recruitment will be done in future due to lack of candidates. Commissioner Food Safety and Drug Administration Department Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that there was a shortage of drug inspectors in the department for a long time. With the arrival of new inspectors, the drug department will work more strongly.
