Secretary Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department Dr BVR Purushottam met Chief Secretary Radha Raturi at the Secretariat. Secretary Dr BVR Purushottam informed Chief Secretary Radha Raturi about the award of the best state received by Uttarakhand in the field of fisheries in the Himalayan and North Eastern states recently.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi congratulated the Fisheries Department and the fish farmers and said that the government is continuously making many efforts to increase the income of farmers and animal farmers. Its results are now visible. Uttarakhand produced about 70,000 metric tons of fish in 2,600 hectares last year.
