Severe cold in Uttarakhand, temperature reached minus in all four Dhams, Adi Kailash is the coldest
There is severe cold in the state. People are shivering due to the cold without rain and snowfall. The cold is such that the temperature in all the four Dhams located in Uttarakhand is running in minus. Kedarnath and Yamunotri are the coldest.
Temperature is in minus in all the four Dhams: The minimum temperature of Kedarnath is -7° Celsius. Here the maximum temperature will be 6° Celsius today in the daytime sunlight. Yamunotri Dham located in Uttarkashi district is also experiencing bone-chilling cold. The minimum temperature here was also -7° Celsius today. The maximum temperature here will be even less than Kedarnath i.e. only 5° Celsius.
The cold is no less in Badrinath Dham as well. While the water of the river and waterfall has frozen in the hilly areas of Chamoli district, the minimum temperature in Badrinath Dham was -6° Celsius today. The maximum temperature is expected to be only 6° Celsius. There is severe cold in Gangotri Dham as well. Here today the minimum temperature is -4° Celsius and the maximum temperature will remain up to 9° Celsius.
–9° Temperature in Hemkund Sahib: Hemkund Sahib is experiencing more cold than these four Dhams of Uttarakhand. Today the minimum temperature of Hemkund Sahib was -9° Celsius. That is, it is 9° Celsius below the temperature required for the formation of ice. From this you can guess what is the situation in Hemkund Sahib. The maximum temperature here is expected to be 3° Celsius.
Pink cold in tourist places: Talking about tourist places, both the maximum and minimum temperatures in Adi Kailash have gone into minus. That is, the water here has frozen. In Mussoorie, Dhanaulti and Mukteshwar also the temperature has gone into minus without rain and snowfall. The weather is suitable for visiting Nainital, Ranikhet, Kausani, Munsyari and Chakrata.

The maximum temperature of Chopta will be 21° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be 6° Celsius. The maximum temperature of Dhanaulti will be 13° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be -1° Celsius. The maximum temperature of Chakrata will be 15° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be 1° Celsius.
Temperature drops below freezing point in Mukteshwar: The maximum temperature of the lake city Nainital will be 16° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be 2° Celsius. On the other hand, the maximum temperature of Mukteshwar, the famous tourist place of Nainital, will be 14° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be -1° Celsius.
Ideal weather to visit Ranikhet Kausani: The maximum temperature of Ranikhet, a tourist place in Almora district, will be 19° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be 2° Celsius. The maximum temperature of Kausani located in Bageshwar district will be 20° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be 2° Celsius.
Both temperatures are in minus in Adi Kailash: The maximum temperature of Munsiyari, the pride of Pithoragarh, will be 16° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be 2° Celsius. The coldest is Adi Kailash. In this religious tourist place located in Pithoragarh district, both the temperatures have gone into minus. The maximum temperature of Adi Kailash will be -9° Celsius today and the minimum temperature will be -19° Celsius.
Mountains looking empty without snow: Despite the temperature going into minus, there has been neither rain nor snowfall in the state. Due to lack of snowfall, the hills of Joshimath Himalayas are looking empty, while the mountain ranges adjacent to Nanda Devi National Park or the Zanskar Valley Kamet area, Badrinath, Satapath area, dry plateau-like mountains are looking deserted all around without snowfall.
Water of rivers and waterfalls accumulated: The effect of cold and winter is clearly visible on Rishi Ganga flowing from Neelkanth area in Badri Puri. Rishi Ganga has also frozen. Ram Narayan Bhandari, a local resident of Baamni/Pandukeshwar village, said that due to the extreme cold in Badri Puri, the rivers and streams are freezing. Rishi Ganga has also frozen halfway. Due to no snowfall, there is a severe cold wave and chill in the area.
