Sukhoi jets, S-400 missiles, T-90 tanks… Russia is unable to provide weapons, India is losing patience

Russia is India’s largest arms exporter. India has been buying everything from missiles, fighter jets to rifles from Russia for decades. Russia has provided immediate help to India on many occasions and with the help of Russian weapons, India has found it easy to achieve victory. The situation seems to be changing since the Ukraine war began. While Russia is not able to supply India with the remaining 2 S-400 air defense systems, spare parts of very important weapons purchased earlier are also not available. Amidst the threat from China and Pakistan, PM Modi himself raised this issue with the Russian President during his visit to Russia, but it has not been resolved yet. Now Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is also going to Russia and he will also raise this issue with the Russian leadership. Let us understand why Russia is not able to supply weapons to India…

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is going to Russia next week where the Guided Missile Stealth Frigate INS Tushil will be inducted into the Indian Navy. Rajnath Singh will meet his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov on December 10. During this, Russian President Putin’s visit to India this year will also be discussed. Putin is coming to India after a gap of about 3 years. The main focus of this visit will be on the timely supply of weapons to India from Russia. India is constantly asking for the remaining 2 S 400 missile systems from Russia but Putin is still reluctant.

It has become difficult for India to get spare parts of T 90 tank

Not only this, getting spare parts of Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jet and main battle tank T 90 has become a big headache for India. Analysts say that Russia’s entire defense industry is currently focused on the Ukraine war, which is creating problems for India. In recent times, the Ukrainian army has destroyed many S 400 systems. This has become a challenge for Russia to compensate for them. Apart from this, the Ukrainian army has destroyed hundreds of Russian tanks with the help of American and British missiles. This also includes T-90 tanks.

Apart from this, there is also a problem in getting spare parts of Sukhoi 30 MKI which is the life of the Indian Air Force at this time. India is buying this weapon from Russia by angering its close friend America, but Moscow is not able to fulfill its promise. This is affecting India’s strategic preparation. That too when the challenge from China and Pakistan is increasing continuously. Not only this, friendship between Russia and China is increasing these days, which is a matter of concern for India. India has purchased weapons on a large scale from Western countries in the last 1 decade, but still the share of Russian weapon imports is about 36 percent.

What answer has Russia given on S 400 now?

Russia is saying that India will now be able to get the remaining two S 400 missile defense systems only in the year 2026. India had signed a deal for 5 S 400 missile systems in 2018 for Rs 40 thousand crore. Russia has supplied 3 of these but 2 are still left. These days America has imposed strict economic sanctions on Russia, which has stopped the supply of military technology to it. This has affected its defense industry. Not only this, Russia is now becoming dependent on China for these military technologies, which is a danger signal for India. Not only this, questions are now being raised on the credibility of Russia.
