Uttarakhand: On the instructions of Dhami, ACEO administration held an important meeting to deal with the cold wave, instructed the officers to provide help to the helpless and needy people

Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swaroop of Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority reviewed the preparations for the cold wave with all the thirteen districts of the state on Saturday and gave necessary guidelines. He asked to make proper arrangements for night shelters and ensure the arrangement of bonfires at all important places.

On Saturday, from the control room located at USDMA, ACEO Administration Anand Swaroop held a meeting with the District Disaster Management Officers of all 13 districts regarding preparations for the cold wave. He said that all the districts should ensure that the number of night shelters is sufficient. If needed, their number should be increased.

He said that along with cleanliness in the night shelters, arrangements for essential items like heaters, water heating rods, adequate number of beds and blankets etc. should be ensured. Along with this, he directed to make proper arrangements for bonfires at important squares, bus and railway stations etc. of all the cities where people stay at night.

He said that an amount of Rs 10 lakh each has been released to all the districts by the Honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ji to deal with the cold wave. This amount should be used in a better way in public interest so that people can get relief in the cold season. He said that if any district needs more money, then it can send a proposal to the government. In the review meeting, he expressed satisfaction over the preparations of all the districts.

Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Obedullah Ansari, Dr. Pooja Rana, Dr. Vedika Pant, Rohit Kumar, Hemant Bisht, Tandrila Sarkar etc. were present in the meeting.

People should come forward to help the needy people

Dehradun. In the review meeting, Anand Swaroop said that various business establishments and institutions should be encouraged to cooperate with CSR funds to help the needy people. He also said that along with various NGOs, common people should also be encouraged to donate warm clothes, blankets and food items etc. to the needy people.

Instructions to take special precautions in snow-covered areas

Dehradun. Anand Swaroop, ACEO Administration, instructed to be extra cautious in snow-covered areas and work in a planned manner there. He said that in places where it becomes difficult to deliver ration due to snowfall, ration for the next two to three months should be stocked. He asked to ensure the arrangement of all equipment like JCB machine, Pokland machine, snow cutter machine and chain etc. to open the roads blocked due to snowfall and to remove vehicles stuck in the snow. Swaroop said that the roads become very dangerous due to frost in the mountains, in such a situation, lime and salt should be sprinkled on the roads in frost-affected areas to prevent road accidents and people should be alerted about the possible danger by putting up sign boards.

Care of destitute animals is also important – Ansari

Dehradun. Mohammad Obedullah Ansari, Joint Chief Executive Officer of USDMA, said that it is very important to take care of stray and destitute animals during the cold wave. He said that every district should adopt a humane approach in this direction and coordinate with the Animal Husbandry Department to identify places for destitute animals to stay. He said that a campaign should be launched to provide shelter to destitute people in night shelters. Through public announcement, the needy people should be told where the night shelters are so that they can go and stay there. He also directed all the districts to share the coordinates of night shelters and bonfires with USDMA. He said that all the districts should collect complete details of pregnant women so that in case of any emergency, medical assistance can be provided to them on time.
