Uttarakhand: SOP will be ready soon for the winter Chardham Yatra, DGP Deepam Seth held a meeting with police officers of the concerned districts
The police department is going to prepare an action plan for the winter Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand soon. Under this, instructions have been given to the police officers of various districts to prepare SOP. Along with this, orders have also been issued to nominate nodal officers for the winter Chardham Yatra.
The Uttarakhand Police Department is working on an action plan to make the winter journey well organized and safe. An action plan related to the traffic plan and safe travel of the winter stay in Chardham will be prepared. For this, police officers of various districts have been asked to prepare SOP. Director General of Police Deepam Seth held a meeting of SSPs and SPs of various districts. In this, the officers have been asked to prepare a plan for the winter Chardham Yatra in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Uttarkashi. The special thing is that the officers have also been instructed to nominate a gazetted level officer as a nodal officer in the respective districts.
During the meeting, it has also been asked to make point-wise arrangement of police force as per the need at the winter stay sites of the four Dhams and the Chardham Yatra routes. In the meeting, it has also been said to provide complete information of devotees and vehicles to the police headquarters through Garhwal region every day. During this, the security related framework will also be prepared by the police officers by holding a coordination meeting with the officials of the temple committees at the winter stay sites. Apart from the safety of the passengers, a contingency plan will also be prepared for various accidental incidents.
A strategy will also be prepared to prevent over speeding on the travel route. Along with this, action will also be taken against overloading. Necessary works will also be done while inspecting the identified black spots. In this way, the police department will work on a special strategy to make the winter journey successful. So that the winter Chardham Yatra can be improved.
