Uttarakhand: Congress candidate will be able to contest for the post of Municipal President in Herbertpur, High Court gave permission, nomination was cancelled due to suspicious caste certificate

Yamini Rohila, Congress candidate for the post of president from Herbertpur Nagar Palika, has got a big relief from the Nainital High Court. In fact, the court has allowed her to contest the election. The returning officer had cancelled the OBC certificate of Congress candidate Yamini Rohilla from Herbertpur Nagar Palika on a complaint in the caste certificate case, considering it suspicious.

Yamini Rohila had filed a special appeal

The single bench of the High Court had also rejected her petition, due to which Yamini Rohila had filed a special appeal. On the special appeal, a division bench of Chief Justice Justice G Narendra and Justice Ashish Naithani heard the case. After the hearing, the order of the single bench was stayed and Yamini has been allowed to contest the election.

The Congress said that the state government has undemocratically cancelled the nomination of Congress candidate Yamini Rohila. After the court’s order, the Congress is now claiming victory. Meanwhile, candidate for the post of President of Herbertpur Nagar Palika, Yamini Rohila, thanked the public and said that this is the victory of justice over injustice.

Wave of happiness in Congress

Senior Congress leader and former cabinet minister Navprabhat said that our repetition which went in single batch was disposed of in summary disposal. Our advocate did not get a chance to present his side. In such a situation, we filed a special appeal in the High Court. The court has heard our case. We have been informed by the advocates that we have been given permission to contest the elections. He said that the written order will be received by this evening. Whatever the order of the court, we will follow them.
