The weather in Uttarakhand is going to change once again. According to the Meteorological Department, snowfall is expected in areas above three thousand meters on the evening of January 15 or morning of January 16. During this time, there is also a possibility of lightning along with thunder at some places in the plains.
The weather in the capital Dehradun remained clear on Tuesday. However, fog prevailed in plain areas like Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district. According to the weather forecast, fog may prevail in plain districts like Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar on January 15 as well. At the same time, snowfall is expected in areas above three thousand meters.
Director of the Meteorological Department Vikram Singh said that due to the change in weather on the evening of the 15th or morning of the 16th, snowfall is expected in areas above 3000 meters in the hilly districts. During this time, there is also a possibility of lightning along with thunder at some places.
He said that from 17th to 20th, there may be rain and snowfall in the high altitude areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts. On the other hand, the plain districts may remain cloudy. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog for Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts.
On Tuesday, there is bright sunshine across the state, which has definitely given relief to the people from the severe cold. Due to sunshine in the mountainous and plain areas, an increase of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius in temperature has also been recorded. But due to the change in weather once again from the evening of 15th, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the area around 3000 meters of hilly districts.
