Truth and Reality

Municipal elections in Uttarakhand tomorrow, the contest on these seats will be interesting, the rebels did not listen even after the parties tried to convince them, increasing the tension of the parties!

In Uttarakhand, the election noise stopped at 5 pm on Tuesday (21 January). Now everyone is waiting for voting. Voting is to be held in 100 bodies on January 23 in the Uttarakhand Municipal Corporation elections. Before voting, all the star campaigners of BJP and Congress campaigned vigorously in the state. Talking about CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, during this time he held about three public meetings daily. Apart from this, he also did many road shows. Looking at the election campaign, it seems that this election is going to be very interesting.

CM held rapid public meetings

According to the information received from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office – CM Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted 52 election programs in about 12 days in the civic elections. In the civic elections, CM Dhami campaigned in this campaign just like in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

National issues dominated the local elections

These elections may be for the municipal body, but in these elections, the BJP paid more attention to national issues instead of local issues. During his campaign, CM Dhami raised issues like land jihad, spit jihad and UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code. Along with this, the Chief Minister accused the Congress of doing politics of vote bank, appeasement and opposition to Sanatan.

Independents are also giving competition on these two seats

Elections are being held on 100 seats of municipal bodies in Uttarakhand, in which about 5405 candidates are in the fray. BJP and Congress are seen competing on most of the seats. However, there are two seats where independent candidates can spoil the game of BJP and Congress. Both these seats come in Garhwal region. If political expert Adesh Tyagi is to be believed, independents can spoil the matter in Rishikesh and Srinagar.

First seat Rishikesh Municipal Corporation

BJP has fielded Shambhu Paswan for the mayor in Rishikesh. Congress has bet on Deepak Jatav. Meanwhile, Dinesh Chandra Master, who rebelled from Congress, has made this contest interesting by raising the issue of outsiders and local candidates in his election campaign. On the other hand, Mahendra Singh is in the electoral fray from UKD. Adesh Tyagi says that, seeing this kind of contest, it can be said that there is a tug-of-war between the mayor candidates in Rishikesh Municipal Corporation. Let us tell you that this time this seat is reserved.

The contest will be interesting on Srinagar seat too

Apart from Rishikesh, independents are giving equal competition to BJP and Congress on Srinagar Municipal Corporation seat in Pauri district. Independent candidate for the post of mayor in Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Aarti Bhandari, has given a tough fight to BJP and Congress. In fact, BJP had fielded Asha Upadhyay for the post of mayor in Srinagar Municipal Corporation. On the other hand, Lakhpat Singh Bhandari from BJP was also demanding a ticket for his wife, but when he did not get the ticket, he fielded his wife Aarti Bhandari as an independent candidate.

On the other hand, Congress has fielded Meena Rawat. Apart from this, former Municipal President Poonam Tiwari, who rebelled from Congress, is also in the fray this time. If Adesh Tyagi is to be believed, then looking at the situation of rebels in Srinagar Municipal Corporation, it can be said that the election for the post of Mayor will not be easy here. While the rebels are increasing the tension, they are also making the contest interesting.

Let us tell you that there are a total of 11 municipal corporations in Uttarakhand, in which three are reserved for general women (Pithoragarh, Roorkee and Srinagar) and one (Haridwar) is reserved for OBC women. At the same time, one seat is reserved for SC (Rishikesh) and one seat (Almora) is reserved for OBC. At the same time, five seats are general.
