Uttar Pradesh / Shahjahanpur: Husband and wife accused of extortion by threatening to implicate in false rape case arrested, 40 thousand cash recovered

Puwaiyan police has arrested a couple on the charge of extorting money by threatening to implicate them in a false rape case. Sex-enhancing medicines along with 40 thousand rupees in cash have also been recovered from them.
According to Puwaiyan police station, on February 18, a person from village Bhavi of Banda filed a complaint alleging that Sukhdev Singh son of Tara Singh resident of village Bansai and his wife Ramandeep Kaur and Gurvinder Singh son of Harjeet Singh of Himmatpur called him to a room on the pretext of getting his daughter’s birth certificate made and then forcibly made a video by removing his clothes. After this, by threatening to implicate him in a false rape case, they took 20 thousand rupees from him along with 20 thousand rupees in cash and also transferred 20 thousand rupees from Phone Pay.
After registering an FIR, the police team arrested Sukhdev Singh and Ramandeep from the other side of Jeva bypass bridge. 40 thousand rupees in cash, 9 Aadhar cards, 3 PAN cards, a blank cheque of HDFC Bank, 7 ATM/debit/credit cards, sex enhancing drugs and two mobile phones were recovered from them. The search for the third accused in the case, Gurvinder Singh, is on.
