Uttar Pradesh: Three Kanwariyas died in a tragic accident, 5 friends were returning home on two bikes
Bike riders carrying Gangajal from Haridwar to Faridabad in Haryana died after being hit by a Tata Harrier car on Tuesday night. While the condition of two Kanwariyas remains critical. The accident took place on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in front of Amrala in Bhojpur police station area at around 1.30 am on Tuesday night.
The police have registered a report on the complaint of the deceased’s brother. The police have arrested the accused driver after taking the car into custody. According to the police, the accused was drunk. After hitting the bike, the car collided with the divider and got damaged.
A postal Kanwar had left for Haridwar from Faridabad in Haryana. It included 20 Kanwariyas including Singhraj’s sons Devendra (40) and Harendra (38) of village Mahmoodpur in Thana Tigaon area of Haryana and Ajay (24) and Sundar, and Sunil of village Khedi in Sector-75 police station area.
A speeding car hit Devendra’s bike
On Tuesday, they took Gangajal from Haridwar and left for Faridabad. Ajay, Devendra and Harendra were on one bike. While Sundar and Sunil were on the other bike. A postal Kanwar was going ahead of them. The postal Kanwar entered the Delhi-Meerut Expressway from Partapur in Meerut. They also kept moving behind. Late at night, when they reached near Amrala at around 1.30 am, a speeding car coming from behind hit Devendra’s bike.
After this, the car collided with Sundar’s bike and collided with the divider. The collision was so severe that Devendra, Ajay, Harendra, Sundar and Sunil fell on the road and got seriously injured. During this, their vehicles also got damaged. On the information of Dial 112, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital. Where the doctors declared Devendra, Ajay and Harendra dead. Sundar and Sunil are still undergoing treatment.

The police identified the deceased and informed their relatives. There was chaos in the house on the news of death. After this, the relatives reached here in some time. On the other hand, the car driver was also injured in the accident. He has injuries on his face. The front part of the car was damaged. After treatment, the police took the accused car driver Nikunj, a resident of Meerut, into custody.
Jam on the expressway after the accident
During the accident, the damaged vehicles came on the road. In such a situation, the vehicles coming from behind did not get space to go ahead and a jam started. The queue of vehicles started getting longer. The police reached the spot and rectified the traffic system. The jam continued for about half an hour. It is being told that other Kanwariyas, angry with the accident, also created a ruckus. There is also an allegation of sloganeering against the police.
