Uttarakhand: CM Dhami honored the litterateurs with Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman, inaugurated the book fair

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored the litterateurs and linguists of the state with Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman. He said that the Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman ceremony is a symbol of our literary tradition, creative consciousness and reverence for word-seekers.
In the Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman ceremony organized by Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan in IRDT Auditorium Survey Chowk, the Chief Minister said that the litterateurs to be honored have enriched the cultural and literary heritage of Uttarakhand through their creativity. The land of Devbhoomi has always been a wonderful center of creativity, knowledge and culture, where the light of ideas has inspired the society in every era. He said, the natural beauty of Uttarakhand inspires countless writers, poets and thinkers. Countless litterateurs associated with writing and creation have also contributed to the establishment of Uttarakhand. The government has awarded an honorarium of one lakh rupees to 10 outstanding litterateurs in the year 2023, expanding it further, 21 new literary awards including Uttarakhand Sahitya Bhushan Award have been announced in the year 2024.
Along with this, it has been decided to provide financial assistance to 45 writers. He said, two literature villages are being established by Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan, where facilities like residential facility, modern library, seminar room and study place will be developed for litterateurs. The state government is making concrete plans to preserve, compile and restore the scattered literature of the state through Bhasha Sansthan. Along with this, the state government is making continuous efforts to preserve local languages and dialects. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, MLA Khajan Das, Director Swati Bhadoria, former Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudharani Pandey etc. were present in the program.

In the ceremony, the Chief Minister honoured Subhash Pant with the Uttarakhand Sahitya Bhushan Award. Dr. Dinesh Pathak was honoured with the Sumitranandan Pant Award, Gopal Dutt Bhatt with the Gumani Pant Award, Kulanand Ghansala with the Bhajan Singh Award, Sunita Chauhan with the Govind Chatak Award, Prof. Sagir Ullah with the Unwan Chishti Award, Shama Khan with the Gaura Pant ‘Shivani’ Award, Satish Dimri with the Manglesh Dabral Award, Shashi Bhushan Badoni with the Mahadevi Verma Award, Lalit Mohan Rayal with the Shailesh Matiyani Award.
While Neeraj Kumar Naithani was honoured with Dr. Pitambar Dutt Badthwal Award, Mahendra Thukathi was honoured with Bahadur Bora Bandhu Award, Mohan Chandra Joshi was honoured with Sher Singh Bisht ‘Illiterate’ Award, Virendra Panwar was honoured with Bhawani Dutt Thapliyal Sati Award, Madan Mohan Duklan was honoured with Kanhaiyalal Dandariyal Award, Dr. Pawanesh Thakurati was honoured with Girish Tiwari “Girdha” Award, Anoop Singh Rawat was honoured with Vidyasagar Nautiyal Award and MR Dhyani was honoured with Bhairat Dutt Dhulia Award.
